Documents
What is this?
A general document storage for anything that doesn't fit elsewhere — manuals, standards, internal instructions. Files live in a simple folder tree, with title, description, and tags as metadata. There is intentionally no versioning and no approval workflow — to upload a new revision, replace the document or create it under a new title.
How to use it
- Create a folder: Via "New folder" on the left — a folder can live inside another folder (any nesting depth).
- Upload: Via "Upload document" — file, title (required), description, tags (comma-separated), and an optional target folder. Allowed file types and the 50 MB limit are the same as for test case attachments.
- Search: The search field searches title, description, and tags across all folders (tags must match exactly, lowercased).
- Download: Via the download icon on each document — the file is served through an authenticated endpoint, never a public link.
- Delete: A document can be deleted at any time. A folder only while it's empty (no documents, no subfolders) — otherwise a message explains why.
Common issues
- "The folder won't delete." It still contains documents or subfolders — move or delete those first.
- "My file gets rejected." The file type or extension isn't on the whitelist, or the file is larger than 50 MB.
- "Search doesn't find my tag." Tags are lowercased on save and must match exactly (not as a substring) when searching — "calibration" instead of "calib".
